    Printing Industry Slammes Google For “Go Paperless in 2013” Advertising Campaign

    Google has come under pressure from print industry advocacy group Two Sides and the Printing Industries of America (PIA) after the search engine giant signed up to the Go Paperless in 2013 campaign.

    Tokyo (January 17, 2013) - Konica Minolta Business Technologies, Inc. (Konica Minolta) announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire FedEx Kinko's Korea Ltd. (FKK), the largest copy and print service provider in Korea.
    Background and aim of acquisition
    One of the primary growth strategies in the Konica Minolta Group's Medium Term Business Plan "G PLAN 2013" is to reinforce the production print business.       Canon today officially launched a new initiative including a pilot location in Calgary, Alberta, Canada that follows the experience of physical retail projects like Apple Stores and Microsoft’s recent brick-and-mortar locations, giving consumers opportunities for hands-on experiences in a space not shared with other brands. Canon’s new “Image Square” isn’t a store per se, but it is a showroom and learning center that sounds like it borrows a lot from the Apple model.     Hp Hits Milestone as it Expands Into 8,000 U.S. Walgreens Stores

    HP has teamed Walgreens to extend the HP Public Print Locations network into more than 8,000 of its US stores. The platform allows app users to remotely print via the ePrint Service app for iOS, Android and BlackBerry, though Walgreens will only be integrated into iOS initially.
    The new partnership means HP now offers its users more than 30,000 printing sites around the world, while those printing through Walgreens will be able to collect the copies in as little as an hour....Read More
